    A 2,000-YEAR-OLD CORK STOPPER RECOVERED FROM THE SEA BED PRESERVES ALL ITS PROPERTIES. The study by the Centre d’Arqueologia Subaquàtica (Underwater Archaeology Centre) and the ICSURO concludes that the cork stoppers have retained their main components (lignin, suberin and polysaccharides) and that their cell structure has remained intact despite the action of the seabed.
