Two products, one destiny: wine and cork come together in the Proudly Crafted in Portugal campaign.
These are two unmissable top-of-the range products: the unique Coche wine and the NDtech® natural cork stopper. Now, they come together in the Proudly Crafted in Portugal campaign, in which Niepoort and Amorim Cork work together to promote and enhance the excellence of Portuguese products. Niepoort’s campaign pairs each premium wine with a specific closure, exposing unique stories through a series of short films. The campaign cleverly mixes the unique legacy and know-how of traditional techniques with technological innovation to highlight the best of Portuguese winemaking.
It’s a winning alliance, brought to life in the film “The Lean Machine”. Like the others in this project, that values artisanal production, know-how, and the way two iconic national products come together and enhance each other. These are Niepoort’s Coche wine, the brand’s most exclusive white wine, with only 4700 bottles produced, predominantly made from Rabigato, Viosinho, and Códega do Larinho grape varieties, and Amorim Cork’s top-of-the-range natural cork stopper, NDtech®, with Bee W® biological surface treatment. This treatment combines two extraordinary natural products, beeswax and cork, in a pioneering and innovative solution that improves the consistency of the wine’s flavours and aromas, bottle after bottle, in high-quality, age-worthy wines such as Coche 2023.
“We are extremely proud to be associated with Niepoort in this campaign that highlights the relationship between an iconic wine and Amorim Cork’s natural cork stopper, underlining the oenological decision responsible for this wine’s final journey in its ultimate tribute to evolution,” says Luís Botelho, Amorim Cork’s commercial manager. “It’s all about the true meaning of simple things: time, tradition, persistence, nature, knowledge, and authenticity.”
Daniel Niepoort, Niepoort’s head winemaker, for his part, says, “Tradition cannot be rushed. It takes time, patience and respect for nature. Because from the vineyard to the moment the bottle is sealed, everything counts in the final experience. In the case of Coche 2023, an iconic white wine from the Douro, it is a tribute to craftsmanship, to the manual dedication that begins in the vineyard and culminates when the cork seals the bottle. The sound of bees, the wind blowing through the vines, the cork... all this is part of the identity of this wine.”
